In the political section, it makes sense to me. Skewed sample. There are a couple of stooges that comment here that don't actually stay abreast of current events, outside of late night talk show hosts, but I'd suspect that most of us that comment here listen to news/talk and sports radio on AM.

A lot of us have known this for quite a while, but for anyone who was on the fence, there can no longer be any doubt that republicans are absolutely fine with tyrannical governments, as long as it's them doing the tyrannising. Turns out the US DOD has manuals for the type of thing that is happening on US streets right now, that describe the right way to handle it, the wrong way to handle it, and what you can expect with each approach.

There's a recent series of youtube vids describing all of this, made by a guy who is neither right nor left (he's actually an anarchist, by definition, but that doesn't really come out in his videos). He knows the constitution, he knows the law, and he REALLY knows the military, and he's more patriotic than probably 99.9% of Americans, and 100% of Americans who support trump.
