starts a baiting thread using Sam Fishers name, gets called out on it and immediately closes the thread.

Loooooooool

I suppose if we all just continued to talk shit about Sam and assari the thread would still be open?? MLB umps are more accountable than some of the mods here.

When are you going to become a mod?

Maybe I should start a thread with your name in the title, and bait you. Though you 'bate enough for all of us.

My first instinct was to close this thread - Board politics being as they are though, I'm gonna leave it open for now.

There shouldn't be double standards for mods, this is true (that's why my posts come across dripping with attitude because I try to post like a regular member despite being a mod - Why shouldn't I have fun to?).

A few things will become obvious over time regarding the Sam Fisher thread, let Supa have his say in this thread if he wants to. If we can stop this becoming a flaming war then there is no need to close this down.

I will take my time sharing my take on the last hours.

A: I log in and see I have a new user title. Hm. And I can't access the staff section.

B: No PM from an admin

I write some notes to moderators. Ah, one responds and tells me Roald has got mad at me. He did not feel like writing me a note or anything, Just kick me, that's it. Really classy.

Regarding the path the new board policies have gone, he might even done me a favor.

I predict there will be some more mods leaving, this is getting ridiculous

And, mind you, FreeOnes is demanding us to work hard for zero pay and accepting abuse from both admins and members.

Maybe Roald can not understand how this gets to us. Working our asses off and just say, thank you, insult me some more, won't you? As he does get paid and gets to fly around the planet on companies expenses.

We are the robots doing the dirty work

Oh, sorry, I ain't no robot no more

Oh, it was just a light-hearted, humorous thread (IMO) directed at someone who (absolutely) lived on trying to attract attention to himself. So even though he has largely disappeared now, the vestiges of his past still exist. That's all. No big deal. No harm done. Especially considering all of the inflammatory threads started by "he who must not be named", I don't see how that thread was any worse than the numerous threads where Will E Worm, Revamp, Baconsalt or WTC7 have been made fun of.

People apparently wanted new, looser rules? Well, now we have them. So I don't see why any particular poster (including myself) should be immune from an occasional poke every now & again, whether it's from a mod, an OCSM or some other poster.

Personally, I think we need some catfights up in here! I say we start some rumors about Got Gisele and Ember Reigns, tell each that the other one has said mean things about her and turn them loose with some feather pillows. Two girls who (still) look like they're twins separated at birth going at it in nighties. The first one to break a nail loses. Yeah? Yeah! :nanner:

And yet, one who calls a mod a clown is still here. In fact that one is still here and the one who publicly cussed out a mod has been given more second chances than Zsa Zsa Gabor has had husbands.

Yes I took your mod powers after that Sam thread. Its all fun and games until someone (STDiva) called you out (for double standards) and you close the thread. This was not the only reason though as there have been more things.

Anyway if you felt like that than why continue doing the job? Again, no one is forced to do this job. We HIGHLY appreciate the help from the mods but if you can not agree on our rules than we unfortunately have to move on. The rules change cause the internet changes, we can not stick with "old day" rules if we want to keep playing along.

And I really dont understand what me flying the planet has to do with this. Im flying around making deals for FreeOnes (thats one of my jobs) making sure we can stay afloat in this mess called the internet. Yes I get paid to do that, but im also taking all responsibility while working my ass off to give all of you FreeOnes. And trust me running this ship aint as easy as it once was and besides that I dont think most people would want to take full responsibility for the complete FreeOnes network.

And trust me, its not as much fun as some of those pics make you think ;)

Now lets keep this thread open for everyone to comment on and give their input and thoughts on this. As soon as it gets a flaming war then I would say we close it. No need to start calling names.

I am not calling names. Yet you still stay classy by not even sending me a PM about kicking me.

Of course your job is harder. But you get paid for it, that was the point I wanted to make.

Nice try to hand me over the decision of wanting to do the job.

The moderators are more like accepting the challenge of, 'Hell, someone needs to clean up the place'. And noone really thanks them.

Still, you don't seem to understand.

Have a nice evening.

Why do members, who continually violate rules, get a second (or third or fourth) chance and numerous warnings, yet mods who have typically done a good job don't get even a warning or a suspension? In my entire professional life, I have NEVER rehired someone who I have had to fire. Yet the board does give (certain) members second and third chances to come back after they've been banned. But a good mod doesn't even get a warning? No second chance for him?

I doubt anyone would say that I'm an easy person to work for. And as I said, while I wouldn't rehire someone who I have fairly fired, I believe it only fair to let people know what I expect of them and what they need to do to keep their jobs.

My question is a sincere, but a rhetorical one, that doesn't necessarily need to be answered here. I only ask that the admins think about this: if Supa did something wrong, was he warned and did he get the opportunity to right any wrongs before this action was taken? Well... :dunno:

When are you going to become a mod?

Never. I'm too impartial.

Dirty work? Working your asses off? I'm not sure if you're serious or not. Still, you seem pretty bitter for losing the job you apparently hated.

Apparently this isn't the first time. Also, modding is a hobby. Not a job.

Simply put:

No.

I just woke up to being kicked.

Oh, and I was the guy who translated the site to german, so everybody in Germany gets every menue in german. But that does not matter, as it seems.

Dude. You volunteered to do these tasks. Quit acting like you're owed anything. All the Germans fapping away appreciate your time and effort.

I will not get involved in this, nor do I want to go into any details, but I will say that I think this situation could've been handled differently by both sides. :2 cents:

Apparently this isn't the first time. Also, modding is a hobby. Not a job.

Just because a person isn't paid, that doesn't mean that it's not a job. In the past, I have volunteered as a track worker at races. I love racing. I love cars. And while those are my hobbies, my work at the race track was indeed a job. I just wasn't paid. And if I'd ever been dismissed, I would still expect advance warning and fair treatment whether a paycheck was involved or not.

As for this not being the first time, I have no idea whether that's true or not. And whatever the case, we are not privy to the communication that did or did not take place between the parties in question. Only they can answer that. And I'm not asking either of them to air that here. But I think it would be nice if they could "talk" offline and work this out. I like them both very much. And I'd like to think that this is just a misunderstanding between two very likeable people that could be resolved by some calm communication. That's all. :hatsoff:

I'm not sure what you did at the track but IMO, hanging out on a leisure porn forum a few hours a week is not a job. Especially considering we're all here anyway. But that's neither here nor there. Or anywhere.

Should a moderator even be given warnings? Isn't that the point of the moderator position: To be explicitly familiar with the rules and adjudicate them properly? Not breaking the rules as a moderator is pretty well implied, seeing as how mods are the ones that are supposed to know the rules and enforce them. Mods should be -- and apparently are on this site -- held to a higher standard of conduct as they have willfully taken on the position of moderating other board members, and are inherently given more power and responsibility than that of the regular poster/member. Being a moderator and intentionally, or knowingly, breaking the rules, especially to spite another member, is just the same as a cop who doesn't wear their seat belt, or speeds in the patrol car.

If you didn't know you were breaking the rules, you don't have the necessary knowledge to be a moderator in the first place. Further, if you were knowingly breaking the rules, then you don't have the integrity to be a moderator. :2 cents:
