It matters because it tells how serious (or not serious) a person is.
The porn industry is not that big, directors, photographers an producers know each other, talk ot each other. On the other hand there are hundreds for girls so when a director or a studio has to choose a girl, reputation does matter and not paying your taxes is the kind of thing that's gonna add to the "unprofessional, to avoid working with" column, just lie not showing up on time, being mean towards the crew or the other performers, etc...

I can semi see your point, but not paying takes is a lot different then drug or alcohol problems, which I think would scare away film makers more easily. But honestly, I can't really speak knowledgably on this subject, I've only provided my opinions. I will say, I have a lot more dislike for a thief, then a murderer, so I guess you can call not paying taxes, thieving, but I honestly never feel bad, when it's done to the American government. I guess that's my hypocrisy to deal with, but when you consider how dishonest most of the politicians are, it's easy for me, to not feel to hypocritical about myself.
