Scientist Says That Humans Are Almost Certainly Going Extinct
https://www.scientificamerican.com./article/humans-are-doomed-to-go-extinct/
Even without reading this yet I will agree with the thought that Humans are limited. Just the stupidity among such a large part of the population is enough to do it. Add to that the warlike tendencies, the lack of interest in keeping the planet alive(probably expect God to touch the planet with his little finger just before the collapse) wholesale murder of each other and other species even one that show a modicum amount of intelligence. It'd gonna take a while but I do believe it will occur. I can only hope what or who ever comes next will do a better job with what's left.

Why Are Chimpanzees and Gorillas Suddenly Going to War?
An interspecies primate war may be unfolding before our eyes.
https://www.discovermagazine.com/planet-earth/why-are-chimpanzees-and-gorillas-suddenly-going-to-war

This is what happens when 'humans' driven by greed destroy the natural habitats of animals. :(
This isn't anything new, this behavior in primates has been observed countless times for centuries.
This is how most animals naturally behave when their environment or resources are threatened or destroyed.

The same thing is portrayed in the 1968 movie 2001: A Space Odyssey.
The aliens fucked with the natural order of things, and the previously peaceful primates went apeshit on each other.
I'm 99% certain that human primate ancestors naturally learned to fight and kill millions of years ago, and aliens had nothing to do with it.

"2001: A Space Odyssey" Greatest Fight Scene

It's a good sci-fi movie, but a bit slow-paced.

I don't know if we'll go extinct in the next couple centuries, but I feel it's a good bet there will be large culling of the herd.
Climate change will make a good chunk of the planet uninhabitable, and the places that are left won't be able to support that kind of mass migration. Throw in the increase in land unusable for food production, fight for resources and as we've seen in the pandemic, just a general level of stupidity among a large part of the population and it's not hard to fathom that the race can't go on as it is right now.

The Insane Engineering of James Webb Telescope
20 minutes to watch at 1.5x speed.

Kyle might look like a stoned surfer dude, but he does seem to have a legit academic background and I love his videos on Nerdist which combine IRL science with video games and movies

Here's an interesting topic I haven't thought about before

Will work just like the treaty to ban military weapons in space from the 60's

Finland Might Have Solved Nuclear Power’s Biggest Problem

Finland and nuke waste: interesting. In the US, I think we store it in the SW (NV, etc.), in carved out mountains,and/or the desert.

Unless it has changed the storage of radioactive material is a local issue here in the US. It was supposed to go to Yucca Mountain in the west but NIMBY got in the way. I know because there is a large amount of leftover material in my town from a now dismantled power reactor.

Canada is pretty transparent when it comes to this - they literally list every single disposal site in the country. Which they can probably do since they don't generate that much nuclear waste due much of their power being generated by renewable sources.

First patient in UK gets ‘vaccine’ for cancer that should help immune system ward off cancer permanently
https://www.cityam.com/first-patien...lp-immune-system-ward-off-cancer-permanently/

It will take only 50 years and $50 billion dollars to perfect the cancer vaccine.
When it is perfected it will be kept secret from the public and only offered to rich assholes for at least $1 million per treatment.
Then maybe in a few centuries will it be available to the general public, because the cancer industry is very profitable for the processed food industry that causes cancer, and the health care industry that pretends to cure cancer.
