They don't require a lot of agility, just a great deal of physical stamina. So you can run a marathon....does that make you a great athlete? Or just very physically fit? There's a big difference.

Randy Moss admitedly "takes plays off." So do a bunch of players on a football field. I can assure you you aint taking any plays off in the NHL, WTA or World Cup soccer.

so you have to be a great athlete for the sport to be hard to play?

because randy moss is an ass bag and doesnt play his hardest every play, football is easy to play?

In that list, Hockey is by far the most exhausting and physically demanding but I saw on wikipedia that Squash and Badminton (!!) are one of the most difficult sports. As a player of Badminton I can say it is difficult but it gets 100x harder in a profesional competition (look on youtube and imagine 1.30 hour of that)

It's not as hard as some other sports to play. Not even close.

And as to your comment about whether or not I watch football. I don't. Not anymore. You want me to run down a typical football game for you and why I CAN'T STAND football games?

Your typical scenario:

Kick off

Three and out.

3 minutes of commercials.

Three and out.

Flag on the play.

3 minutes of commercials

Turn over. (flag on the play)

3 minutes of commericals.

20 yard pass.

Flag on the play

Turn over.

3 minutes of commericals.

Flag on the play (while you were watching commercials).

3 more minutes of commercials.

End of the quarter.

Repeat.

Ad nauseu.

Is it any wonder the "biggest game of the year" (the superbowl) is usually the worst game of the year (the most lopsided)?

Frankly I'm too deficient in my attention to watch a lame ass modern day NFL game. If I want to watch some non-stop action in athletics I'll watch an NHL playoff game, the World Cup or the Womens Tennis Tour (my fave - sexy women running around).

you bash football, but you love tennis?

Well you defintaly missed the hardest sport out there GOLF ,

Golf is not a sport. :D ;)

And I've never played hockey myself so I couldn't say for sure but the balance, athleticism, coordination, and endurance seem to me would have to be oustanding.

Aside from that, having played all the others -- SOCCER.

I'm just saying....football is garbage. There's a flag on every play and there's just a bunch of whiney ass overpayed lazy ass bitches on the field half the time. Not to mention the fact that it's obviously a ploy to run 2 hours of commercials within a 3 hour game slot. It's capitalism (although I am a capitalist)...but I fucking HATE commericals. I used to love watching the Vikes in the late 90's...the 98 team was so explosive and dominant, but that's it, I can't stand that shit no more.

Playoff NHL hockey, The World Cup, The womens (US) tennis open. Now that's entertainment. At least you can sit back and have a couple cervezas without having to watch bullshit ass commercials promting fucking viagra, miller light, or some other superficial bullshit ass products over half the telecast.

football may be garbage. thats your opinion. after all, i think tennis is garbage. i hate solo sports. but, that doesnt take away from the fact that football is a tough sport to play. :2 cents:

but i still stick to my guns and say baseball, by a mile, is the hardest sport to play.

Well, as much as I love golf, it's excruciatingly saturated with commericals as well. The Masters seems to be the only damn tournament worth watching anyymore, because they make an issue to limit commericals as much as possible.

I don't mind baseball so much. I enjoy a game every now and again. The playoffs can be very entertaining. The hardest game to play? Like you said, that's your opinion. ;) That's why we're even discussing this right now.

I'd say golf is the most difficult sport to be no1 in.

Of the sports in the poll - Hockey. Ice skating, stick, puck plus the 220pound gorillas trying to squash you.

Rugby or Aussie rules football are tougher than american football. In NFL they run around with padding and helmets - in rugby and aussie rules - you have to be a tough motherf*cker to survive!

Get ear-holed a couple times by a 260 Lb. man running a 4.4 and tell me how easy American football is.

Hardest? No. Toughest...maybe. If I remember correctly, the sport with the most concusions is hockey. I believe that and football. Still, I'd like to see some of those football goons strap on a pair and go at Scott Stevens head on and see who walks away. ;)

I'm surprised that there's any question about it.. Wrestling (the real kind like in High School or College) or Boxing. Requires intelligence and strength and stamina.
