Where in this thread did anyone type about boycotting prostitution? If we boycotted every industry that involves the gross exploitation of people, we would be frozen to the floor and would die.
Yet, I have presented some factual evidence that many of these women are indeed being abused during the course of their jobs - even in Amsterdam. And you have offered no factual proof to the contrary. But the truth is, my opinion on the matter is no more or less credible than either of yours, and worth just as much, and that's the end of it. That's the "unbiased truth". It's up to individual people whether they agree with you guys, or me, or neither.
Where did I type that 75% of them were smelly? I typed that 75% of them - at least - are married. IF you disagree with that statement SO strongly; then I assume you have some facts to back up your opinion. Because if you need some to back up mine - I imagine a quick Google search could come up with some.Johns are not over 75% married and smelly. On the contrary, some are married, some are not, some are smelly, some are not, some are old, some are young, some are guys who can't get laid without paying for it, some are guys who get laid all the time without paying for it.
Here is the first I came across:
http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/sites/entrez?db=pubmed&uid=1497473&cmd=showdetailview&indexed=google
'The prostitutes were positive that at least 40% of their customers were married at the time of their encounters.'
And that was from male prostitutes. And I assume, this is for gay sex. So if 40% of the customers of male prostitutes KNOW that their customers are heterosexually married and yet having (I assume) homosexual encounters with escorts. Then the percentage of male customers in straight marriages having straight sex with escorts surely must be far higher.
And those were only the ones they knew for sure. There are many 'johns' that take off their rings before they meet an escort and deny they are married - or do you think they don't do this?
Here is your problem, McR: complete inaccurate generalization. Like here:
Countless means that there are too many that I can count. That is what I meant by countless.Countless? How many is countless?
You just did it. So I guess it is not so difficult - lol."And yes, of course what they do are called 'jobs'. So is being a mercenary or an legal executioner. But I would not call those people 'regular' workers either." - that's really weak and low. Though you make no direct connection between those paid murderers and hookers, how can selling sex to someone even be mentioned in the same breath as being paid to kill someone? Really?
It was an example - don't be so thin skinned.
And still you call them 'whores' and I call them 'escorts'. And you think you are being more respectful then I to them? And need I remind you that whores are demonized in most countries, while soldiers (mercenaries hired by the gvmt, essentially), are heroes in America in particular. So obviously not everyone sees these things the way we do - we're the minority, although we may not like that.
And a lot of women have low self esteems - especially escorts - because they were abused emotionally and sexually when they were little - as the statistics I quoted above back up.A LOT of women have very low self esteems because of the media.
Well, you seem to be easily 'stunned'. But even if they are ALL 'stunning' - you assume that a women that is gorgeous must have a high self esteem. If you honestly feel that way then you clearly do not know what you are talking about. Some of the most gorgeous women I have known have incredibly low self esteems. They sometimes feel like their only value is superficial. It is no more or less prevalent in prostitutes, and since the hookers in Holland, for example, are all very stunning, I think they are on the whole a lot more self-confident than the average women about their looks.
I agree with you there. If there is one generalization that holds true to me, for most but not all prostitutes and pornstars and strippers and models too, it is that often, one of the first things they will tell you is that they are college educated, or that they are smart, or that they have written poetry or a book, or something. I think this speaks to the one insecurity that pains almost all beautiful women, which is this: they are so used to men only seeing them for what is on the outside, that they are slightly pre-occupied with the need to prove that there is more to them than just that.
My bottom line is this: you make a lot of statement as fact. Do you have ANY hard, unbiased evidence to back up what you type?
If you do, I would be most interested in reading it.
