People on the government side of authoritarian regimes seem to like it. And nothing short of prying it from their dead hands will get them to relinquish it.
Which becomes a problem when no one is willing to take that first step, and so these guys get free reign to do continue their shtick. Unless of course, as another user pointed out, you have a military so pathetic that there's no risk to bullying you around.

Any system or philosophy that puts profit and control of others as it's primary objective above all others will always end up at totalitarianism in the end. In that sense the term totalitarian capitalism is a redundant one.
