*2024 US Presidential Elections* - Candidates, Statistics, Campaign Timelines, Debates

Jerome Charyn, writer: 'The Supreme Court that wants to crown Donald Trump has accidentally made Biden a king, however fragile he has become'
A US Supreme Court ruling grants a sitting president immunity from criminal prosecution, which could protect Donald Trump if he were elected. In response, Joe Biden should not withdraw his candidacy, but resign once in office, argues the writer.

In this election cycle, for the first time in American history, both sides failed miserably in producing a suitable/sensible POTUS candidate.
The process of electing a President is only as good as (i.e., wise as) the voters of each party.
The problem is... although these voters know what they want domestically (small picture), they're often ignorant of or indifferent to
the higher/more important stakes at play globally (big picture). But unfortunately, being the incompetent campaigners that they are, the Democratics
have failed to articulate to the public what could conceivably happen under Trump.

With a Trump victory, Ukraine funding ends, NATO alliance weakens, Russian takes Ukraine.
Balance of world military power notably shifts, as Russia, China, North Korea, and Iran form an alliance, putting US and its allies at a disadvantage.
An emboldened China then attacks our long-time friend/ally/ Taiwan, a fellow Democracy. But Trump chooses not to defend.
China then assumes control over the #1 microchip/semiconductor manufacturer in the world - Taiwan Semi (TSM).
China leverages TSM to disrupt or even restrict chip sales to US companies, thereby limiting America's capacity to innovate commercially and militarily.
US growth in AI and other futuristic technologies would be impeded, throwing the US economy into a deep and long-lasting recession.

What Trumps supporters don't get is just how critical NATO is to the prosperity and overall well-being of the US and to the Free World at large.

Feeling good as long as you give it your all despite the outcome all is fine if we're talking about a pick up basketball game or pulling a shift down at the box factory, not if your trying to be president of the most potentially destructive country in the Earth's history,

"Honey, it's our wedding night and we're about to consummate the marriage.
I’ll feel, as long as I gave it my all, and I did as good a job as I know I can do, that’s what this is about.”

I remember the "domino theory" promoted during the Vietnam war. The "what if" idea should the communists take South Vietnam, the entire region will soon become communist. Fifty years later, that theory was proven wrong. If anyone back then told me that eventually America and Vietnam would have diplomatic / friendly relations, I would have thought they were wrong. Both sides will try very hard between now and November to instill fear about the "what if" should the other guy win. I'm not buying what they're selling. My vote will be a protest vote for a third party. Enough with the two grumpy old men.

The shooter, and an innocent rally attendee are dead, and a third person is in serious condition. If you watch the video, you can see a bullet grazed his ear. About 3 inches to the right, and it would have taken off his melon.

The article is saying that he was <150 meters away, and that a "decent" shooter would have been able to make the shot. So can we conclude the shooter was an amateur?

A lapse of security here. Quite possibly ...

The Secret Service was on him before the assassin was in his shooting position. Ten minutes before the incident, people were saying they saw a guy with a rifle climbing a tower to a nearby roof. He killed the rally supporter and he wounded the two other supporters. The event was just starting, people were moving about. Getting seated, etc. The victims probably helped to block his view to President Trump. After he let the third shot go (the shot that grazed Former President Trump's ear) -- the Secret Service Sniper detail immediately knew where he was. They unloaded five shots into him. Killing him instantly. The thing is that the heavily armored tactical team of the Secret Service was out there like they should be. Plus Donald Trump had six maybe seven Secret Service Agents who tackled him and they jumped on top of him saving his life.

As U.S. Senator Marco Rubio (R-FL) said, "God was out there yesterday." Rubio continued to pray for Former President Trump throughout the ordeal. Everyone, regardless of their political party affiliation is condemning this act. They are against political violence. They are all praying for Former President Trump's complete recovery. President Biden has reached out to Donald Trump to discuss this and to wish him a speedy recovery as well.

Except for the guy who died.

What must it do to the family of the deceased in this case where every politician and talking head is telling us how god shielded Trump specifically while their loved one got popped? Demographics in this country being what they are, odds are good that a Trump rally attendee would be from a religious background. Is there any cognitive dissonance at all in light of yesterday's events? Was the deceased a convicted felon and/or been found liable for sexual assault? Had he been photographed with Jeffrey Epstein? It is a strange and weird world in which we live.

I am amused by the ‘god saved me’ comments. God saved me from the flood. Why did god start the flood in the first instance? “Thank god! He killed someone else!”

A 20-year old dimwit. He was more Squeaky Fromme than Lee Harvey Oswald. More will certainly be arriving about him.

Get ready for the conspiracies. As @John_8581 noted, this is a serious security issue. How he got this close is unreal.

The answer is still the same: more guns.

Since 1933, we've had Presidents and Presidential candidates shot at. Starting with Franklin Delano Roosevelt, Harry S. Truman, John F. Kennedy (a), Robert F. Kennedy (a), George Wallace (p), Gerald Ford, Ronald Reagan and now Donald Trump.

(a) assassinated. (p) paralyzed

Right now, Donald Trump has the sympathy from all of the politicians in the country. Doesn't matter if they are Conservative, Liberals, Republicans, Democrats, Independents, etc. They'll use it during the RNC on Monday in Milwaukee as a rallying point.

Here is the mock psychological profile on Thomas Matthew Crooks

(why do they use the full middle name when it comes to assassins and other notorious people? They do it to distinguish the person from everyday law abiding citizens)

The FBI will confiscate the would be assassin's computer. They'll find out that he had ties to left wing militia and the Democratic Party. That he and his family were big gun collectors, pistols and rifles, etc. That he had been shooting a rifle since he was eleven years of age. Probably used a gun owned by a relative. His father, his uncle, his older brother, even a neighbor. His internet searches will be tied to rifles and ammo.

That he was in love with actress Jenna Ortega or another mainstream actress who was less than age thirty. (wasn't Jodie Foster around age nineteen? When John Hinckley shot at President Ronald Reagan and paralyzed Press Secretary James Brady in 1981). That the would be assassin was also addicted to internet pornography too.

As soon as the MAGA base finds out that the would be assassin had tie ins to the left wing and the Democrats, they'll run with it. They will go around hating on everyone from the other side of the aisle. The Democrats in turn will then lay into the MAGA crowd. It will be the same old same old. Donald Trump will then lose the sympathy vote in this country.

Over the next six months to Inauguration Day on January 20, 2025, it will be a time for increased security over the nut-jobs in this country. Both Secret Service details (Trump and Biden) as well as the FBI will be on high alert and rightly so.

You're correct, three inches to the skull, about four and a half inches to the middle of my forehead.. The distance between the top of my right ear and my skull is one quarter of an inch.

Thomas Matthew Crooks also was a loner and he was bullied at school. That's the newest thing. How could I forget not putting those into his MO.

Robert F. Kennedy Jr. will need Secret Service protection too. Geez, you tend to forget that he's also a candidate for President. A long shot, but one just as well. He knows the heartbreak firsthand. Losing his father and his uncle.

I remember when we were told in grade school that President Kennedy was shot and killed that day. I remember walking home from school that afternoon with my friends, talking about how we're going to get that guy who shot President Kennedy. I found my mother crying when I got home.

Yahoo rejected my comment???? Why...because I called Vance a pig rolling in the mud, and Donald Duck a paper cut survivor?? Well, that's simply a violation of whatever Amendment it is that protects our rights to free speech!! Vance's wife is kinda hot though. :tits:

Making a comment on social media is like going to grandma's house. Her house, her rules.

@Steve-FreeOnes agrees. We all post here at his mercy.

Interesting. That seems like a fairly tame comment given what is out there.
