definitely BS, IMO.

probably someone said some stupid thing to some stupid guy, and now it's "inside information".

the chances to that suit go all the way are... slim.

in real shocking news...

Jurgen Melzer upsets Rafael Nadal at Shanghai Masters

http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/tennis/9092705.stm

it's the first defeat of rafa before the QFs in the year... that stat show us how excellent Rafa's year has been...

however, good for Melzer, who now faces Monaco, and the winner will make his first-ever Masters-1000 SF.

So Murray should make the final now, his path ended up being about as easy as he could hope for.
- Bai (ranked 465 or something) after he upset Stepanek
- Chardy after he beat Baghdatis
- Tsonga was probably the best QF opponent but he didnt play well
- Monaco instead of Nadal

Cakewalk compared to Fed or Djokovic :dunno: They all won their matches pretty easily though.
Djokovic was helped out by Gasquet having to play 3 matches in 2 days, and Garcia-Lopez would most likely not have been there if Roddick didnt get injured.
The Roger/Novak SF is harder to pick since Novak seems to be getting back to his best after making the finals at the USO and winning in Beijing.

Federer proves too good for Djokovic

http://www.espn.co.uk/tennis/sport/story/50888.html

Very entertaining match. ;)
The first set was amazing, very intense, very high level of play, very tough.
Roger saved all 4 break points and made his only one.
In the second set, nole was a little bit tired (second consecutive week in action) and give his service away twice, but Roger got a little un-focus and give his own once.
But in the end, all the 2nd set was soft, low-level of intensity, and Roger just put the boat in cruise control.

With this, Roger will be no.2 in the world again. And probably end up the year in that position, since Nole is defending titles in Basel and Paris.

4th consecutive masters 1000 final for Roger... that's gotta be a record, or close to be. :glugglug:
Now roger is 11-6 against Nole, 2-1 in 2010. They probably meet again in Basel in two weeks from now.

Tomorrow the final will be against Murray, who dispatch Monaco easily.
I'd go for Roger in this one, 'cause Andy's draw has been veeeeeeery easy, and that's the only reason he's in the final. Unlike Roger, who beat Isner, Robin and Nole (talk about tough draws!)

Besides, Roger wants revenge from Toronto...

4th consecutive masters 1000 final for Roger... that's gotta be a record, or close to be. :glugglug:
He has made 4 in a row twice before, in 2006 (Rome to Indian Wells) and 2007 (Madrid to Hamburg).
Nadal(2005,2007,2009,2010), Djokovic(2009) and Edberg(1990) have all had 3 in a row before.
Go Rog in the final :spump:

Shanghai final in about 15 minutes, a preview video from Jason Goodall and Robbie Koenig, one of the better commentating duos IMO :hatsoff:

(They look different than I imagined)

and afterwards Ivanovic will be in her first final in a while, playing Patty Schnyder in Linz.
Looks like a real comeback from Ana, others like Safina still cant get it together though.

It was Federror and Mr. Murraculous today(in the last two points of the first set at least)!
Not a super close final, 6-3 6-2

-16 winners/30 UE for Fed
-20 winners/ 18 UE for Muz
--------------------------
-0/6 BP for Fed
-4/8 BP for Muz

Murray is 6-1 in MS1000 finals now, makes his 0-2 in GS finals look worse.
But Fed is gathering bad stats too, as he is 3-8 against Murray in non-slam matches.
Whats up Fed :hammer: He was no good on big points, quite ugly at times.
Frustating as he had enough chances to get back in the match but took none of them.
Muzza too solid today :hatsoff:

*Tina Turner and Abba, only the hippest tunes at Shanghai :nanner:

Couldn't agree more. Way too many errors, specially in break points.
He's now 5-8 against Murray... i hope he gets that record at least even before he retires...

HORRENDOUS match of Roger. And Murray wasn't spectacular... just capitalizing Federer's countless mistakes.

16th career title for Murray, 2nd of the year (both over Roger). It's his 6th masters 1000 title, in what is, without a doubt, his most notable statistic in his career so far.

For Roger it was his 6th final of the season (only 2 titles). He has lost 6 of his last 8 finals. :anonymous
This week he has to win in Stockholm. Otherwise, he will be very drained (mentally) for Basel, Paris and London.

Isner and Wickmayer returning to defend Auckland titles in 2011
I want to get some tickets for this. It would be my first time seeing live pro tennis, and its ATP/WTA level too :nanner:
Only recently realised that the stadium is 5 minutes away from university :o

Hopefully might see 6' 9" Isner and his serve up close

you are a lucky mod-fo :glugglug:

i wish i could watch and ATP-level tour live and direct...

here in Bolivia and Paraguay there's nothing even close...

Its ok, have a balloon dog :D

Stockholm has started, and Blake beat Bellucci - nice win for him.
Also Lopez went out to Mayer.
Fed has a good chance to win this tournament, Soderling/Berdych are his main threats in the final.
http://www.atpworldtour.com/posting/2010/429/mds.pdf

Hopefully Davydenko can get back on the winning track in Moscow. He plays Cuevas next.
and Dolgopolov won his first match, go Dolgo :nanner:
Maybe Youzhny for the win in this tournament.

my semis:
Davydenko-Tsonga
Stakhovsky-Youzhny

the final will be Kolya-Youzhny, and there, it's anyone guess :dunno:

Scratch that, Davy lost again
http://www.espn.co.uk/tennis/sport/story/51633.html

Terrible year for him post-Doha. That wrist injury messed him up bad.

Also Berdych lost, he hasnt been in good form lately.
So if Fed makes it to finals, his most likely opponent is Soderling. Even though he beat Fed at the FO, he is still 1-14 against him and has lost 5 sets in a row.

and Youzhny withdrew :(

so, there goes my prediction... :anonymous

amazingly terrible, i must said. So bad he's no. 25 in the 2010 Race

http://www.menstennisforums.com/showthread.php?t=155559

of course, he won't make it to London, so he'll lose a lot of points. So, his ranking will drop to twenty-something or worst. :horse:

Also Berdych lost, he hasnt been in good form lately.

he's 3-8 in the last 11 matches.

Peter Bodo had enough of him!

and hear this: Soderling is playing his FOURTH consecutive week! (Kuala Lumpur, Beijing, Shanghai, Stockholm)
That has to be a record. An anti-record, actually. If he make it to the final (i wouldn't bet on it), he will be tired as fuck, and Roger would crush him. Again :2 cents:

Federer reaches semis; Soderling falls in Stockholm QFs‎

http://www.firstcoastnews.com/sports/pro_tennis/news-article.aspx?storyid=172821&catid=408

Roger surprisingly lost the first set being broken twice, but rallied and found his way to the win. Very good win for him

Now he will face Ljubicic in an interesting match. If Ivan can serve well, he definitely have a good chance.
Roger should win, though. :2 cents:

The other SF is Nieminen vs Mayer. The german beat local hero, Robin Soderling, who, like i said a couple posts before, looked tired in the 2nd set; no suprises there: too many matches in the past month.

In Moscow, the SFs are: Cuevas-Troicki (the serbian should win this one) and Baghdatis-Istomin (very hard to pick, but i'd like to see Marcos in the final)
