X-Art Criticised Again For Litigious Stance
The porn production site behind the award winning glamour hardcore site X-Art has once again been criticised for its hard stance on those who are caught allegedly downloading their content from torrent sites.
International Business Times reports that Malibu Media, the company responsible for all content on the site, filed over 70% of the copyright infringement suits filed in the United States since 2009. Over 70%!
The news has led to a prominent law professor calling their stance an abuse of the law, but has suggested that they are unlikely to be made to stop in their constant pursuit of those who download their movies illegally.
It’s a tough one, this. On the one hand I can understand them wanting to protect their content and to go after people who take their material for free.
But such a tough stance doesn’t exactly give them the happiest of company images, does it? They are a great site and they make some wonderful videos, but I’m not sure it does much for how they’re viewed by the general public. Oh well, they never asked me to their PR guy anyway, so what do I know!
