August Ames’ Brother Blames Cyberbullying For Sister’s Death
August Ames was a rising star in the adult industry, but sadly, her career ended too early! Mercedes Grabowski appeared in more than 270 adult movies and would have been seen in many more if her life didn’t end when in December 2017. The brother of August Ames has blamed cyberbullying for the death of his sister, as revealed in The Independent.
Although no official cause has been released regarding her death, her brother James has blamed the abuse she received following comments about crossover performers on her Twitter feed. The pressure from the public forced her to commit suicide, which affected her close family, and fans worldwide!

Her comments provoked a fierce debate about those who crossover from gay porn. Although many from inside and outside the industry agreed with and defended her remarks, there were numerous vocal opponents, with many now deleted comments from numerous people accusing Ames of homophobia.
The deceased pornstar defended herself because she wasn’t willing to make a scene with everyone. She expressed her feelings on Twitter and said she has nothing against the gay community. She said: “I don’t have anything to apologize for! Apologizing for taking extra steps to ensure that my body stays safe? Fuck you guys attacking me when none of my intentions were malicious. I fucking love the gay community! What the fuck ever! I CHOOSE who I have inside my body. No hate,”
This shouldn’t happen again!
It’s a shame that such a tragic event has led to a debate about this subject, which I believe needs to be had, whatever your opinion on the subject may be. August Ames had an opinion that wasn’t accepted by many people outside the adult industry, but she had every right to defend herself. After all, she didn’t have anything about a guy being gay but about having him inside her body! Pornstars should be able to choose with who they want to make adult films and not be forced into anything for any sum of money!
But I still believe the probability that a much loved young woman has taken her life as a result of voicing her opinion on how she polices her own body is of much greater importance here and one we should be talking about with even more ferocity.
