Yeah, I heard about that. Very interesting indeed. I haven't picked up a Playboy in awhile, I have to admit. Last one was the October 2010 edition with Sasha Grey on the cover. Faptastic, but awhile ago.

The whole reasoning behind the strategy of going non nude is that the market for sex and nudity has become somewhat saturated. Its now very easy to see all the porn you want on the internet - so seeing those girls nude was not a big deal anymore. What they should have done was made them non nude in the magazine, but offered nude pictures of them on the playboy plus website. It would have given the same experience as fitness models in the 90s - where you saw non nude pics of fitness models in muscle magazines and had to buy specialized vhs videos from mail to see them nude.
Playboy's business model has gotten somewhat messed up. These playmates arent even well known when they do their pictorials, so I dont see the big deal with them posing nude. Then after they pose nude they rarely pose nude again and dont even really stay in the lime light. In the Special Editions arena they have way too many models and not enough content of each model.
