As reported in the York newspaper The Press, a petition set up to ask that victims of revenge porn crimes be allowed to retain their anonymity has so far garnered around 15,000 signatures.
In around a month since the petition was established, it has garnered a good amount of support as well as trending in the UK on Twitter, but clearly more support would be welcome.
Victims of other sex-related crimes are afforded anonymity – it’s ridiculous this isn’t the case when it comes to revenge porn. More information about the petition and the NoMoreNaming campaign can be found here.
