When you buy a mainstream DVD, there may be "director's commentary" telling you inside info about the film. I wish the same existed with porn movies. Does a fuck scene ever have to be re-shot because someone blew a line of dialogue? Was every line scripted? Did some pieces of accidental dialogue make the cut?
I find some lines of dialogue bewildering. Take this scene with Brandi Love and Tyler Nixon: pornhub.com/view_video_php?viewkey=2126635937. (It just occurred to me that this scene was shot in NYC and "212" is a New York area code, isn't it? Coincidence?) Brandi says "Y'all have a cat and there's no food in the fridge." And Tyler replies "Animals are more important." What a line to occur in a PORNO movie! I'm all for the promotion of animals, but wouldn't that line alienate more viewers than it would impress? Does that line make the film the least bit more enjoyable? Doesn't it just burden the actor with another line to memorize?
Then there's a Becky Bandini scene I can't find right now, in which she plays a call girl going to the guy's hotel room. She's standing up in the bathtub when he tells her to stand still. But she moves a bit. Then he tells her sternly that he had told her to stand still. The smile vanishes from her face. WTF? How does hostility between the man and the woman make the film any more enjoyable? It does the opposite for me.
The remainder of my discussion concerns my favourite porn actress, Sami Scott. In a 2008 film very hard to find on the web (and probably infected with Malware as well), Sami wants to fuck a guy who is selling her a pool table. He balks with something like "This is my mom and dad's house. We can't do that here." But he comes to his senses and lets her begin with a BJ. Before they can fuck, he says either "We can't fuck up my mother's couch" or "We can't fuck on my mother's couch", I'm not sure which. He gets up and walks away, and a convincing HURT look occurs on Sami's face. "What?" she asks. Without a word, the guy (actor Jordan Ash) returns with a blanket and lays it down so they can fuck on it. Did the director want there to be some confusion as to why the guy was walking away without first finishing the sex? If so, this inclusion seems clumsy and needless. The look on Sami's face is so genuine, I'm not sure she was acting. Then again, ever since I saw her in one movie (with Phat Zane and Dane Cross, I'll go to it later), I've deemed her one hell of an actress.
Sami did a film at age 35 (I believe) with actor Johnny Sins. I believe the complete version is 38 minutes long, but it doesn't download for me any more. " The filmology says she did a film with Trevor Thompson in 2008, and that and the aforesaid birthdate would make her likely 31 at the time.
